2 Tips To Help You Keep Up With The Kids' Messes From Summer Vacation

Having the kids home all summer long comes with a lot more messes around the house than you typically have to contend with. Instead of struggling to keep up with their shenanigans, there are some things to do to reduce the time that you spend cleaning up after them. Here, you'll find a few tips to help you do just that.

Hire a Cleaning Service

You know all of that deep cleaning that you just don't have the time to get to each week – cleaning the bathtubs, wiping down the kitchen cabinets, scrubbing the floor – the jobs that need to be done but take so much time and energy that they don't get done as often as they could or should.

Instead of putting off all of the deep cleaning that you can't get to, hire a cleaning service to come out to your home once a week to do it for you. When you have someone come in to take care of the scrubbing of these areas, you'll be able to focus on spending your time with the kids creating memories, and messes, instead of cleaning up all of the mess that's already been made.

Clean Up Games

If you haven't done so already, you really need to have a reward bag or treasure chest for the kids to choose rewards from. Once you have rewards, you can come up with clean up games that the kids will enjoy.

One example of a cleanup game is a basket challenge – you give each kid a basket and they are to fill the basket with things from around the house that aren't where they belong. The first person to fill their basket gets a prize – then the second round requires the baskets to be emptied as things are put back where they belong. First one with an empty basket wins the round.

Play a quick round of a cleanup game each evening before bed, and you'll awake to a home that doesn't look like the kids threw a party while you were sleeping.

When you have the chance, kick the kids out of the house to play outside. If they aren't inside, they can't be smearing peanut butter on the kitchen cabinets or missing the toilet as they go for the 100th time of the day – they'll be outside soaking up the vitamin D and getting the exercise that they need to go to bed at a decent time.

About Me

Keeping Your Home Cleaner

I have always been someone who hates a mess, but unfortunately, I have never been especially good at cleaning either. About six months ago, I realized that I needed a little help around the house, so I started looking into cleaning services who could make a big difference. I was able to find an amazing cleaning services company that started working immediately to make things better. The difference was astonishing. I was able to sit back and work on other things while true cleaning experts worked on my home. Check out this blog for more information on keeping your house cleaner.
