Using Natural Methods To Clean Your Home

If you decided to stop using chemical agents for any type of household cleaning, you may soon find you are not suffering from allergies, skin ailments, or breathing troubles as a result. Many are jumping on-board with the healthy trend in using natural methods when cleaning items in their household instead of using commercial products with several chemicals inside of them. Here are some natural methods you can use when cleaning your own home.

Citrus Scented Vinegar For Counters And Windows

Instead of using glass cleaner or a multi-purpose cleaner to clean windows and counter tops, consider making your own citrus scented cleaning agent from items you most likely already have in your home. Slice a lemon and place it in the bottom of a container. Add undiluted distilled white vinegar. Set this aside for a few weeks. Remove the lemon slices and place the vinegar inside of a spray bottle. This will work wonderfully at removing smudges from glass panes or food spills from your kitchen counter tops. The lemons will mask the harsh scent of vinegar.

Homemade Cleanser To Clean Your Toilet

Toilet bowl cleaning agents are made from chemicals that claim to be safe for your septic system, but after they end up in your turkey mound or leach field, they are infused into the ground. Instead of risking these chemicals getting into the soil, make your own toilet bowl cleaner instead. Start by dumping a cup or so of baking soda into the toilet bowl and allow it to sit for about an hour so it has time to coat the porcelain. Add an equal part of white vinegar to your toilet bowl. The combination of these two ingredients will start an effervescing action that will remove stains from the porcelain without the need to scrub it.

Microfiber Cloth Pieces Instead Of Chemical Cleaning Cloths

Instead of purchasing cleaning cloths with infused cleansers in each piece, consider switching to inexpensive soft microfiber cloth pieces instead. These do not leave streaks and are completely safe for virtually any type of surface, as they are non-abrasive. Whether you use vinegar, baking soda, washing soda, or lemons to make your own cleaning agents, a piece of microfiber cloth will work well at applying the agent to the surface you wish to clean. Look for antibacterial microfiber cloths in different colors to do your cleaning regimen, and specify one color for each room in your home.

About Me

Keeping Your Home Cleaner

I have always been someone who hates a mess, but unfortunately, I have never been especially good at cleaning either. About six months ago, I realized that I needed a little help around the house, so I started looking into cleaning services who could make a big difference. I was able to find an amazing cleaning services company that started working immediately to make things better. The difference was astonishing. I was able to sit back and work on other things while true cleaning experts worked on my home. Check out this blog for more information on keeping your house cleaner.
